Healthcare recruitment agency Nurseplus is marking its 20th anniversary with a renewed commitment to supporting its workforce and its local communities with the launch of a new community kindness initiative.

Nurseplus began its journey in 2005 with a single branch in Ashford. Today, it has evolved into a nationwide network of 50 branches, supporting communities across the UK. Over the past two decades, the company has placed hundreds of thousands of nurses, healthcare assistants, and support workers in vital roles delivering flexible staffing solutions to residential homes, mental health facilities, hospices, SEN schools, private hospitals as well as lived-in care.

The 20-year milestone comes as the UK faces a critical shortage of nurses and care workers, putting significant pressure on care providers nationwide.

Lisa McLean joined Nurseplus as the CEO just two months ago. Speaking of the anniversary celebrations, she commented: “Twenty years in healthcare recruitment is an achievement in itself, but doing so during a period of constant change and crisis makes it even more significant. From the pandemic to ongoing workforce shortages, there has always been something to respond to. I’m thrilled to have joined the company just ahead of this landmark anniversary celebration and I’m keen to make sure that we remain true to our original mission, which is to care for the people we support and the communities we serve.”

“The team should be incredibly proud of themselves, not just those who are working with us now, but also every single person who has played a part in the journey to date,” she added. “Our anniversary celebration isn’t about our business success; it’s about our people’s success.”

To celebrate its milestone, Nurseplus is launching a “20 Acts of Kindness” initiative across all 50 branches. This campaign will see NursePlus teams deliver practical support and charitable activities in their local areas, from volunteering to fundraising for local causes. The initiative reflects the company’s core values of caring, positivity, and trustworthiness.

Lisa added: “Our anniversary is about more than celebrating. It’s about giving back to the communities that have been with us on this journey. Through our 20 Acts of Kindness campaign, we want to show our gratitude and make a positive impact where it matters most. We’re thrilled to see the heartfelt ideas and initiatives our branches are eager to support.”
