Market-leading recruitment specialist Sellick Partnership has announced a key senior promotion who will be leading a new team entering the in-house legal market. Chelsey Saxon was promoted to associate director after forming the team, which will focus on placing legal professionals into the retail, construction, financial services, energy, and utilities sectors.
Chelsey, who joined Sellick Partnership back in 2012, has over 12 years’ experience recruiting legal professionals across the UK and has become an expert in her field. She has predominantly worked with local government organisations as well as higher education establishments, and is ready to use her wealth of experience to further expand the legal offering from Sellick Partnership.
Since her promotion and the inception of the in-house team, several placements have been made on both a temporary and permanent basis, namely in the construction and utilities sector, with several more on the horizon. Building on the initial successes, the team are off to a strong start in 2024 and hope to further develop existing relationships within the actuarial and finance sectors.
Chelsey is also the lead for the Diversity Champions at Sellick Partnership, and is set on making her mark when it comes to inclusive recruitment processes. She said: “Diversity, equity and inclusion is something I am enormously passionate about. This has been key to winning new business, for raising awareness and educating our staff, as well as informing our clients and candidates on inclusive hiring; the reasons for it and the benefits it brings.
“This also works in tandem with helping clients understand and develop their company culture for the better – something I have always loved about Sellick Partnership, and now something I can embed myself deeper within.”
Speaking about her new role and responsibilities heading up the in-house legal recruitment team, Chelsey said: “In recent years we recognised that more requirements for in-house legal positions were coming through to us based on our existing reputation in both the public sector and private practice markets, as well as from past clients and candidates who had made the move into the in-house sector. It felt like the right time to take this further and set up a team dedicated to in-house recruitment.
“I saw an opportunity to focus on something new, with a fresh perspective and exciting opportunities but it needed commitment from someone on a full-time basis. Therefore, this really did feel like the natural next step. The potential for growth in this market excites me, both personally and for Sellick Partnership.”
As part of her new role as associate director, Chelsey will be having more involvement in the strategic direction of the company, working closely with the Board of Directors.
Laura Hayward, group director at Sellick Partnership, said: “Chelsey is focused, driven and selfless with her time – a real asset to this team and to Sellick Partnership. Over the last few years Chelsey has hired, trained and mentored a number of successful recruitment consultants who have become fantastic billers.
“This is such a pleasure to witness and highlights that her contribution to the wider team and business overall is invaluable. I am incredibly proud of what she has achieved, she has worked so hard and it is thoroughly deserved.”
