Joe Jani, CEO of global recruitment company Metric, has been announced as a regional finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2025. Representing the Midlands region, the EY awards are the only global programme of their kind for entrepreneurs. With a legacy of nearly 40 years, this flagship initiative celebrates, connects, and supports entrepreneurs as they unlock their ambitions.
The nomination was submitted by Metric board member and BGF investor Adam Huckerby, who led the multi-million-pound investment in Metric in 2024, having been impressed by Joe’s entrepreneurial drive over the past year.
Since receiving the investment, Metric has continued to pursue its ambitious growth plans, opening additional US-based offices in Austin, Texas, and San Diego, California – bringing its total global footprint to six offices in six years. They were also recently announced as one of the Financial Times Fastest Growing Companies in Europe.
“A big part of the reason BGF invested in Metric was because of Joe’s leadership, and what he has built and achieved in a short period of time,” said Adam Huckerby. “He has embraced the partnership with BGF, and Metric has continued to grow and evolve at great pace. We are proud to support his journey and celebrate Joe’s well-deserved recognition.”
Joe Jani added: “It’s a massive honour to be a regional finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award, and I’m continuously proud of Metric’s performance and everything we’ve built together.
“While others in the industry scale back and cautiously navigate tough times, our growth plans remain as aggressive as ever,” Jani explained. “So far this year, we’ve opened our first West Coast office in California, broken multiple records – including our best-ever global NFI performance—and grown to a 100-employee company globally.
“The investment from BGF has truly accelerated our growth, and I’m excited to see us go from strength to strength over the coming years as we continue our partnership,” he concluded.
