French construction recruitment disruptor asap.work has announced its acquisition of JUST CONSTRUCTION, a leader in UK and US permanent hiring for the construction industry. The move comes at the same time as the business launches into the booming American market.
With 95 per cent of JUST CONSTRUCTION’s business rooted in the US, particularly in high-growth regions like Texas, Florida, and North Carolina, this acquisition gives asap.work instant firepower across both sides of the Atlantic.
The deal also plants asap.work’s flag in the US with a new office in Austin, Texas, set to open this year. The company plans to build out a 10+ person team by the end of 2025 and scale its proven permanent hiring model across the country.
“The US is in the middle of a construction boom – and a talent crisis,” said Mathias Mouats, CEO and co-founder of asap.work. “With this acquisition, we’re bringing our tech-driven, people-first model to a market that needs a smarter, faster way to connect skilled talent with opportunity.”
Founded in 2021 by Mathias Mouats and Steve Belkacemi, asap.work aims to transform how construction recruitment works across Europe. With over 10,000 placements under its belt, the startup combines automation, personalisation and deep sector expertise to solve one of the industry’s biggest pain points: getting the right people on-site, fast.
asap.work has already delivered measurable results – growing revenues x14 between 2023 and 2025 and increasing its team by 300 per cent since 2023, while contributing to flagship projects such as Metro Line 18, Notre-Dame de Paris and the Arboretum campus.
The secret? A full-stack digital platform that frees recruiters from admin overhead and empowers them to deliver top-tier candidates in record time. For construction workers, the experience is refreshingly simple and tailored.
Behind the scenes, 20 per cent of asap.work’s sales process is powered by AI – from smart candidate screening and profile matching to automated sales actions like anonymised CVs and bio generation. It is not just tech for tech’s sake – it is about scaling personalised recruitment with an ever-increasing focus on people.
Based in Bromley, UK and founded in 2012, JUST CONSTRUCTION is a dominant player in hiring for Drylining, MEP, Facades and General Contracting. With a 20+-person team and deep roots in US markets, it is a strategic beachhead for asap.work’s North American play.
“When I met Mathias in Paris, I immediately perceived our common values,” said Jamie Trevett, CEO of JUST CONSTRUCTION. “We share the same vision: putting people back at the heart of recruitment in construction. This alliance was obvious to conquer the American market together.”
Jamie Trevett will stay on to lead the charge, with the JUST CONSTRUCTION team set to grow rapidly as part of asap.work’s international build-out.
This move could not come at a more critical time. The construction industry is grappling with a massive labor shortage: 400,000 roles remain unfilled in the US alone. In France, that figure hits 100,000.
With projected annual growth of 4.7 per cent in the U.S. construction sector until 2033, the demand for skilled talent is not slowing down anytime soon.
“We’re not just reacting to the crisis,” Mathias said. “We’re hoping to build the infrastructure to fix it permanently.”
