A recent training report from OC&C Strategy consultants, shares how organisations can incorporate AI within their learning and development practices, stating that 43 per cent think AI will completely transform the way training is delivered.
The report claims that the advent of AI is set to be a game changer for L&D, helping to drive personalised learning journeys, reduce content creation costs, and enable more interactive training formats for teams.
Whilst over four in 10 say AI driven insights can lead to a fairer and more objective assessment of employees, there is still scepticism. However, this hesitation comes mainly from non-users, according to the report, with 29 per cent of current AI users very willing to further adopt AI solutions vs just 13 per cent of non-users.
Pedro Sanches, Partner from OC&C explains, “Our research finds that, despite scepticism from some parties, 55 per cent of current AI users say the technology has improved results in their organisation, with a further 55 per cent adding it has improved their data insights.
Almost half of the 600 senior HR professionals surveyed also stated that AI solutions improved their administration time, and 39 per cent claimed it gave employees a more personalised experience, suggesting organisations could greatly benefit from incorporating AI.”
Industry experts at the global consultancy firm say they are currently seeing L&D providers leverage AI across several use cases, including data, insight and measurement, to content tailoring.
Personalised learning experiences and content tailoring
Organisations are using AI solutions to quickly craft tailored learning experiences for each team member and/or team need, making the learning process more efficient and engaging for employees.
Virtual coaching
Teams are embracing real-time virtual tutors or chatbots for interactive conversations with learning materials, to engage their employee base.
Data, insight and measurement
AI can provide valuable insights into the impact of L&D initiatives by analysing data and correlating it with business performance metrics, allowing HR leaders to efficiently and clearly report on goals progress within the organisation.
L&D teams can rapidly develop curriculum outlines, implementation plans, and communications through integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into their everyday systems.
Pedro Sanches, Partner at OC&C Strategy Consultants concludes, “Whilst concerns about AI are around data and privacy, as well as additional costs, our ‘Training Transformed’ report shows that AI solutions could make corporate training processes more effective, efficient, tailored, and engaging.”
