1996 - We’ve come a long way since our humble beginnings. Our Founder & MD Nadeem Ahmad set out to create a truly diverse, global recruitment agency that would lead digital transformation across the world.

 

2000 - We purchased our 9000sqft City of London freehold building and named it Templeton House.

 

2010 - We opened our Netherlands office, the first international Templeton office.

 

2012 - We became the first ever agency to feature on all three official Recruitment Industry Lists for three consecutive years: Recruiter Fast 50 (growth), Recruiter Hot 100 (productivity) and Recruitment International Top 500 (revenue).

 

2015 - Our partnerships spanned 40 countries all over the world.

 

2017 - We opened our second and third international offices, in Germany and in Switzerland.

 

2019 - Our Diversity Needs Action (DNA) programme saw us named Finalists for the TIARA Diversity & Inclusion in Recruitment Award.

 

2020 - Throughout the pandemic, our agility and resilience enabled us to maintain headcount, revenue and profit, in addition to bringing on new large global clients.

 

2021 - The opening of our Warsaw, Paris, New York and Bangalore offices means our team now span 8 global offices. 

 

2022 - Our 20+ recent Awards evidence our commitment to continual international growth.

Individuals from diverse backgrounds are chronically underrepresented in tech. Only 19% of UK and 17% of European tech specialists are female. Fewer BAME IT specialists reach manager levels than white colleagues despite often being more qualified. Professionals from all diverse groups are more likely to leave tech prematurely due to discrimination, lack of support and unwelcome environments. Diverse tech teams are vital in creating a future where tech is fair, accessible and beneficial to organisations, governments and communities globally. 

 

Templeton was created to deliver progress through people. Templeton's Founder Nadeem Ahmad was inspired by banker and philanthropist Sir John Templeton, who raised and donated billions to teach understanding and acceptance across faiths, and united people from different backgrounds all over the world.

 

As a young person from a BAME background, Nadeem was driven to create a truly diverse recruitment agency that also led diversity in tech and business. Templeton was sparked in 1996 from Nadeem's passion for people, technology and the spirit of partnership between recruiters, clients and candidates.

I'm an LGBT woman who has worked in recruitment for nearly ten years now, and I have never seen such a truly diverse, positive and supportive environment. At Templeton I feel embraced by my colleagues and managers/directors to always be myself around the office. Management and my colleagues are massively supportive. I don’t feel people are intrigued by me as they’ve ‘never had a Black friend before’, but that people are interested in speaking with me and connecting with me because of what I have to offer. Being able to be myself allows my colleagues to get to know me better and gives me a sense of freedom in my workplace. It’s extremely liberating to know that being yourself matters more to the people around you than how you look or what you say. In my 25 years in recruitment, I've never seen such a diverse business. I love working with recruiters of all different backgrounds and experience levels to help them develop their careers.

I've been here ten years so that says it all! I joined Templeton as a resourcer, and three promotions later I now lead a global team as a Director. I've since worked in Shanghai to support our China presence and in Germany where I now live and work remotely. Balancing a career with a 4-year-old and 6-month-old has been a handful but Templeton has been very supportive. I often joke that I have two families: my real one at home with my kids, and Templeton.

I work in the Netherlands office, and here and throughout the company, there are a lot of women in management and at every level. At Templeton you get a lot of space and support to learn and develop, personally and professionally.

When I first started at Templeton I hadn’t managed to close a deal for 6 full months. I was experiencing it extremely badly and the racism I had to endure from my surroundings wasn’t complimenting my situation. That was my breaking point. Not long after that, though, I found myself being in charge of the entire India market, closing 44 placements in less than 5 months and – today – leading a team of 6! I wouldn’t have achieved any of this without persistence and hard work, but most importantly without the support of my colleagues and management. The greatest thing about the company is Templeton’s amazing group of people, who will guide and support you, be your friends, celebrate with you or hold you when you’re about to break.

I enjoy coming to office every day and hanging out with so many unique people from so many different backgrounds. We learn so much from each other, but most importantly, we learn how to respect each other’s unique needs and qualities. Our offices are social, energetic and diverse environments where everyone feels supported and encouraged to achieve their best.

It’s such a delight to work in such a diverse and inclusive environment, where you can feel accepted and valued for who you are and you can sense that every opportunity is genuinely equal, with no favouritism or politics.
